Week 2-Problem of Practice

I have had a strong desire to "flip my classroom".  I don't know that I could flip it 100% but I would like to incorporate more of that style into my classroom.  I really like the idea of having my students read and learn at home then put what they "learned" into practice during the school day.  I feel I would be of better use to them while they are trying to master through practice rather than mastering at home.  My dilemma is that I live in a very poor county yet work at an Early College High School.  It is small in relation to the other high schools in our district; however, we have less resources.  A couple of the schools in our district are one-to-one with technology.  We are not.  I have many students that do not have a smartphone/computer at home or internet access and if they do have a smartphone--they have limited internet access.  I really would love to develop a way to still flip my classroom while accommodating the students who lack internet access.

Introduction

Hello everyone,
My name is Talissa Fann.  I am currently working on my Master of Education in Educational Technology.  This is my last class (dancing)!!!  I am a wife of 24 years and mother of three handsome young men.  I teach Math I and Math II Honors at Robeson Early College High School in Lumberton.  I love my job, I love my students, but most importantly I love my family and I love my God.  I started back to college late in life.  Although the change was hard....I am grateful I made it.  I graduated in 3 1/2 years while working a full time job and managing my family.  I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Middle Grades Mathematics with second concentration in Special education.
